Ingredients

Protein

  • 3 1/2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken

Sauce and Seasoning

  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Pinch black pepper

Cheese

  • 2 cups freshly grated low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese

Breads

  • 12 King’s Hawaiian Rolls

Finishing and Garnish

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Prepare the buffalo chicken mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded rotisserie chicken, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, honey, minced garlic, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until the chicken is evenly coated with the flavorful sauce.
  3. Slice and arrange rolls: Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Arrange the bottom halves, cut side up, evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Assemble the sliders: Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly on top of the chicken layer. Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese layer to complete the sliders.
  5. Brush with butter mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Italian seasoning, and garlic salt. Generously brush this mixture over the tops of the assembled rolls, reserving a small amount for later use.
  6. Bake covered: Loosely cover the sliders with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until the filling is hot and the cheese has melted beautifully.
  7. Bake uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking uncovered for an additional 5 minutes or until the tops of the rolls become golden brown and slightly crispy.
  8. Final touch and serve: Optionally, brush the remaining butter mixture over the tops for added flavor. Allow the sliders to cool slightly before slicing into individual portions and serving warm for the best taste experience.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for a quick and flavorful protein base, but you can also cook and shred your own chicken breasts or thighs.
  • Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to suit your preferred spice level.
  • If you prefer less mess, line your baking sheet with foil instead of parchment paper.
  • Keep the sliders covered with foil during the initial baking to prevent the tops from burning while the cheese melts thoroughly.
  • These sliders can be made ahead and refrigerated; just reheat them covered with foil to retain moisture.
  • Serve with additional ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping if desired.
