A delightful Cherry Vanilla Earl Grey Tea recipe that combines the floral notes of Earl Grey with the sweet richness of cherries and vanilla syrup, finished with a touch of cinnamon for warmth. Perfect served hot or iced for a refreshing twist on a classic tea.

Ingredients

Tea

  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag or 1 teaspoon loose leaf Earl Grey tea
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Milk Mixture

  • 1/2 cup milk (any type)
  • 4–5 fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1–2 teaspoons vanilla syrup

Optional

  • Ice (optional for iced version)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cherries: Simmer the pitted and halved cherries with 2 tablespoons of water in a small saucepan over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes until the cherries soften. Gently mash them to release their juices and create a flavorful base.
  2. Brew Tea: Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Pour the boiling water over the Earl Grey tea bag or loose leaves and steep for 3 to 5 minutes to extract the aromatic flavors. Remove the tea bag or strain the leaves once brewed.
  3. Heat Milk: Add the milk and the optional cinnamon stick to the saucepan with the softened cherries. Heat gently over low to medium heat, stirring continuously to combine the flavors without boiling the milk.
  4. Combine: Stir the vanilla syrup into the milk and cherry mixture. Pour the brewed Earl Grey tea into a mug, then strain the milk and cherry mixture into the mug, pressing the cherries to extract additional juice. Stir well to meld all the flavors together.
  5. Serve: Enjoy the tea hot immediately. For a chilled version, let the tea cool to room temperature, pour over ice, and optionally garnish with a fresh cherry or a cinnamon stick for added aroma and presentation.

Notes

  • You can use any type of milk such as dairy, almond, or oat milk depending on preference.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of vanilla syrup added.
  • For a stronger cherry flavor, allow the cherries to simmer slightly longer before mashing.
  • The cinnamon stick is optional but adds a warm, spicy note that complements the tea.
  • This recipe can be iced by chilling the prepared tea and serving over ice.
