This Chocolate Oreo Protein Ice Cream is a delicious, high-protein frozen treat made with chocolate milk, protein powder, and Oreo pudding mix. Perfect for a guilt-free dessert or post-workout snack, it combines the creaminess of chocolate ice cream with crunchy Oreo Thins and mini chocolate chips for added texture and flavor. Made using the Ninja Creami ice cream maker, this recipe is quick to prepare and freezer-friendly.

Ingredients

Base

  • 360 ml chocolate milk
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate protein powder
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons Oreo pudding mix or chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 pinch salt

Mix-ins

  • Oreo Thins, as desired
  • Mini chocolate chips, as desired

Instructions

  1. Combine Base Ingredients: Pour chocolate milk, chocolate protein powder, chosen pudding mix, and a pinch of salt into an empty Ninja Creami pint container.
  2. Mix Thoroughly: Use a whisk or milk frother to blend all base ingredients inside the Creami pint until the mixture is smooth and homogenous.
  3. Freeze Base: Place the pint on a flat surface in the freezer, leaving it uncovered, and allow it to freeze solid for 24 hours to ensure complete solidification.
  4. Prepare Creami Machine: After freezing, transfer the pint to the Creami outer bowl, secure the lid firmly, and place the bowl into the machine’s base. Twist the handle to raise and lock the platform in place.
  5. Process Ice Cream: Select the Lite Ice Cream setting on the Ninja Creami and run the cycle. Typically, no additional respin is needed at this stage.
  6. Add Mix-ins: Using a spoon, create a 4 cm wide well in the center of the ice cream. Add desired amount of Oreo Thins or mini chocolate chips into the well.
  7. Mix-in Program: Run the mix-in program once on the Creami to evenly distribute the mix-ins throughout the ice cream.
  8. Serve: Remove the pint from the Creami machine and serve immediately. Optionally, top with additional crushed Oreos or toppings of choice.

Notes

  • Ensure the base mixture is completely smooth before freezing to avoid icy texture.
  • Freeze for the full 24 hours for best results; partial freezing can result in uneven texture.
  • The Oreo pudding mix can be substituted with any similar chocolate pudding mix if unavailable.
  • For a thicker ice cream, increase the protein powder slightly, but avoid making the mixture too thick before freezing.
  • If you do not have a Ninja Creami, use any ice cream maker that has a mix-in feature or manually fold in mix-ins after churning.
  • Store leftovers in the freezer and allow them to soften slightly before serving to maintain creaminess.
