This Krispy Kreme Donut Bread Pudding is a decadent twist on the classic dessert, transforming soft, glazed donuts into a rich and custardy bread pudding. Infused with warm vanilla and cinnamon flavors, and topped with a sweet powdered sugar glaze, it’s a deliciously comforting dish perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6–8 Krispy Kreme Donuts, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 3 large Eggs
  • ⅓ cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Salt

Glaze

  • ½ cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons Milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal of the bread pudding.
  2. Make Custard Mixture: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until the mixture is smooth and well combined. This custard will soak into the donut chunks.
  3. Assemble Bread Pudding: Place the cut Krispy Kreme donut chunks evenly in the prepared baking dish. Pour the custard mixture over the donuts, pressing gently to ensure all pieces are coated. Allow this to sit for 10–15 minutes so the donuts absorb the custard.
  4. Bake: Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set but still moist. This will create a soft and creamy texture inside with a slightly crispy top.
  5. Prepare Glaze: While the bread pudding bakes, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2–3 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl until smooth and pourable to make the glaze.
  6. Serve: Once the bread pudding is out of the oven and still warm, drizzle the glaze generously over the top. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of cinnamon according to your taste preference.
  • For a richer pudding, consider using more heavy cream and less milk.
  • Allowing the donut chunks to soak in the custard for the full 15 minutes ensures a moister pudding.
  • If you like, add a handful of raisins or chocolate chips before baking for extra flavor.
  • The glaze can be customized with a drop of vanilla or a pinch of cinnamon for added depth.
