Enjoy a refreshing Frozen Cherry Coke Slushie, a vibrant and icy beverage combining chilled Coca-Cola, fresh lime juice, and frozen cherries, with an optional splash of bourbon, rum, or Campari for an adult twist. Perfectly blended to a smooth, icy texture and garnished with lime wheels and maraschino cherries, this slushie is a delightful treat for hot days or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Main Components

  • 28 ounces chilled Coca-Cola, divided
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1/2 cup bourbon, dark rum, or Campari (optional)
  • 2 cups frozen, pitted cherries

Garnishes

  • 1 lime, sliced into thin wheels
  • Maraschino cherries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Freeze the Coca-Cola Cubes: Pour 12 ounces (1 1/2 cups) of chilled Coca-Cola into ice cube trays and freeze until solid, about 3 to 4 hours.
  2. Blend the Mixture: In a blender, combine the juice of 2 limes, the optional 1/2 cup bourbon, rum, or Campari, and the remaining 16 ounces (2 cups) of Coca-Cola. Add the frozen Coca-Cola ice cubes along with 2 cups of frozen, pitted cherries. Blend on high speed, scraping down the sides if needed, until the mixture is completely smooth and icy, which should take about 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Serve and Garnish: Pour the blended cherry Coke slushie evenly into chilled glasses. Garnish each serving with thin lime wheels and maraschino cherries if desired for an extra pop of color and flavor.

Notes

  • Freezing Coca-Cola into ice cubes prevents the slushie from becoming diluted as it blends and melts.
  • The use of bourbon, dark rum, or Campari is optional and adds a lovely adult depth to the drink.
  • Make sure to blend until completely smooth for the best icy texture.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the liquor.
  • Use frozen pitted cherries for convenience and a smoother blend.
